Another question... how long does it take the lifejacket to activate when immersed in the water and is it possible to buy a hydrostatically activated model? I sometimes work the bow and get drenched, and have had bad experiences with other life jackets activating after a breaking waves on the bow.
 |
Answer: All our lifejackets are designed to inflate properly within a second if water reaches the pill inside the inflation mechanism. If you are working on the bow you are aware of the mass of water which might be around some time. We have done a lot of tests and designwork to assure that the jacket inflates when really needed and that it does not inflate when not needed. Of course I have to state that the design of our inflators are restricted in a way that they do not make a difference between water in an emergency situation or water not in a case of emergency. We do not sell hydrostatic systems.

I am a yacht racing sailor who does most of his sailing on the ocean and I wondered is it possible to buy the Scout 275 3D without the radio beacon, and if so, is it possible to retro fit a 406 EPIRB/PLB where the radio beacon would normally be fitted?
 |
Answer: Yes, Scout is available without our radio beacon RT-B77. I do not know if your 406 Epirb/PLB fits because there are too many systems on the market.

I have purchased a crotch strap with single stainless steel link to retro-fit to Priva Midi jacket. My question is how do I fit it? I can see the loop at the front but what do I do at the back of the jacket to fit it? Thanks
 |
Answer: Your crotch strap is consisting of one loop on one side and one single stainless steel carbine on the other side.
Fix single carbine on loop of vertical back strap.
Loop of crotch strap is placed right beside lifejacket's front closure buckle.

i'll need a rearming kit for my 3001s in the usa. i had a look in the onlineshop of your american agent, but not sure what i've to order. the airline will to allow any pressure container.
 |
Answer: So you have a lifejacket with an inflator 3001 S. What size of Cylinder (container) do you need? Correct size is stamped on buoyancy chamber. If you open protective cover on automatic side you will see a number. This figure shows correct size of cylinder. Please pass your information on to info@secmar.com and we will find out if you get those cylinder in the US.

Can I use a 33 gram CO2 cylinder for a lifevest that is intended for a 32 gram CO2 cylinder.
 |
Answer: If the cylinder 33 gr. is weight tested like we do on every single cylinder you might use it because our cylinder of 32 gr. has a tolerance of -0gr./+ 2 gr. which means we do not accept cylinders with more than 34 gr. and less then 32 gr.
2 gr. of gas are equivilent to 1 ltr. expanded volume.

hi
im a firefighter in cheshire, england. we use your life jackets on the appliance and use the side quick release attachment for lines.
under what circumstances would the front chest d ring be used ?
regards
lee

Answer: The Priva lifejacket you take is a modified version of the Priva L harness lifejacket that comes as standard with a Deck Safety Harness and D’ring approved to EN1095. This is a restraint harness and is normally used on boats or vessels to attach a lifeline/ restraint lanyard to, thus preventing the possibility of falling overboard.
