As far back as 1988, a SECUMAR Bolero® lifejacket model won the safety prize at the Hanseboot International Boat Show – and now Bernhardt Apparatebau is presenting a much improved version of this lifejacket classic. SECUMAR designers have refined the interface between harness system and buoyancy chamber in the chest area of the lifejacket making it particularly comfortable for women to wear.
The proven design of the basic vest remains unchanged. The basis for the harness and the lifejacket is a short bolero jacket, into which the harness straps are integrated. The lifejacket stands out because of its cut, which is short making it seem even smaller than it really is. The new special yoke on the front of the lifejacket means that it fits snugly over the chest. At the same time, the D-ring on the harness does not rest too low down. It is also notable that the SECUMAR Bolero® does not chafe on the neck like many other lifejackets because of the even distribution of its reduced weight on the wearer’s shoulders.
The SECUMAR Bolero® comes in various versions. It is available in 150 N and 275 N versions and the protective cover also comes in various colour combinations – blue/red, red/blue and sand/blue.
The SECUMAR Bolero® is fitted with the Window check system for the gas cartridge, as well as the click buckle designed along the lines of a car seat belt fastening. It has a mesh back for an improved fit, a soft neck fleece, free manual override device, crutch straps as standard, and comes in a neat bag for stowage.
In addition, an air permeable sprayhood, a lifejacket light, and a manual override can be fitted. All this makes it suitable for yachting, cruising, and motor-boating, as well as blue-water sailing.
