Thanks to a new buoyancy chamber design, the life jacket SECUMAR SURVIVAL Duo Protect fits particularly snugly against the body when inflated. The manufacturer Bernhardt Apparatebau is to present this innovation for the first time in October at the International Boat Show Hanseboot 2007.
The cut of the improved buoyancy chamber is short and it has a volume which places it in the 275 N category. It moulds itself well to the contours of the human body thanks to its curved form. In addition to its high buoyancy which will turn you over on to a safe position on your back even when wearing foul weather gear, the SECUMAR SURVIVAL Duo Protect has further important characteristics. The Duo Protect system buoyancy chamber is composed of two layers, making it particularly robust. Even after being punctured, this means that the buoyancy chamber does not necessarily leak, for a second flexible plastic film presses against the hole from the inside and seals it.
The life jacket is fitted with the reliable automatic inflator 4001 S whose single indicator system shows whether or not a full gas cartridge is correctly inserted and if there is an activating pill in the inflation device. The viewing window system in the outer protective cover allows a permanent check of this from the outside.
Despite all these safety features, you do not miss out on chic. The protective cover is available in the colour variations blue, red and silver-grey, whose various grey tones form a regal contrast with fine red and silver shiny strips.
The fastener on the protective cover is a further innovation. The cover is no longer closed by Velcro fasteners, but rather by a special zip fastener system. This gives the uninflated life jacket a more stable homogenous shape as well as protecting the buoyancy chamber from the influence of sea water and sunshine. However, the “open teeth” on the zip also enable the buoyancy chamber to unfold quickly in the event of the life jacket being inflated. The Velcro tape on the name tags of earlier models has been replaced as well. Now these name tags can be pushed into a transparent pocket.
For decades the company Bernhardt Apparatebau GmbH u. Co has stood for innovative products. Consistent research and the highest demands on quality have helped Bernhardt Apparatebau gain a leading position in its field of life-saving equipment and related products.
