An
Airbag for Dinghys
|
|
|
| The
way the SECUMAR-Anti-Capsize cushion
works is almost like the way an airbag works - as a small package
which you hardly notice it is hoisted to the mast head and only
reveals its true power and size when danger threatens. |
|

Prevention
of finishing upside down
|
A
Catamaran is particularly in danger of ending upside down when it
capsizes. A relatively small buoyancy bag in the mast head can prevent
a worsening of the situation because of the large leverarm. It is
easier for the crew then to right the ship. |
|
|
| Anti-capsize
protection in the mast head
The anti-capsize
cushion is activated and automatically fills with CO2
gas at the moment when the mast head tips into the water. The fully
inflated cushion then stops further capsizing. The system has
proved its value
- for catamarans
(e.g. Prindle and Tornado)
- for large
dinghys (Conger)
- and for
smacks (Marine cutters made of GRP, for both masts)

Hoisting
in the mast head
|
| The
anti-capsize cushion is available in two different load carrying
capacities with the relevant CO2 cartridges (SECUMAR
20 and SECUMAR 40). |
